NEET 2026 Re-Exam City Selection: Candidates Can Change Exam City

The National Testing Agency (NTA) started accepting corrections for candidates taking their NEET UG 2026 Re-Examination. The correction facility is available on the official website — neet.nta.nic.in — from May 15 to May 21, 2026. Students can modify their exam city based on a change to their home address or current address.
After the cancellation of the original National Entrance Test for Under-graduate Course (NET2K26) on 03 May 2K26 (due to allegations of various irregularities and possible leaking of test materials), NEET2K26 was rescheduled to be a paper-and-pencil test on June 21st, 2026, at sites both in India and internationally.

As per the NTA’s public notice of 15 May 2026, candidates can change their:
Current residential address
First choice exam city
Second choice exam city
All other information on their application cannot be changed during this time. However, candidates who do not make any changes will keep the original choice of exam city selected.

According to a press release from the NTA, presently, candidates wishing to change their intended exam city due to relocation since cancellation can do so at their own discretion.
The candidate does have access to an exam city alteration facility until 11:59 pm on 21 May 2026.

No fees will be charged for changing exam destinations.
No changes in personal data will be permitted.
If a candidate does not update their selected exam location(s) before this date, those locations will remain unchanged.
The exam/ test site notification and admit cards will become available on the NTA’s website at a later date.
How To Change NEET UG 2026 Exam City Preference?

1) Go to the official website of NTA – neet.nta.nic.in.
2) Click on the link to change your NEET-UG Examination City Preference.
3) Log in to the website using your Application No. and Password.
4) Enter your new address where you currently reside.
5) Select 2 (two) cities (first and second choice) to take your exam.
6) Submit the changes to the website and save the confirmation page for future reference.
Why Was NEET-UG 2026 Cancelled?
THE NEET-UG Examination was held on May 3, 2026, but it was cancelled due to several breaches of trust: allegations of leakages, irregularities in testing practices, accusations of cheating, and security failures at many locations where testing was conducted.
As a result of the public’s outrage and demands from both student groups and their parents, the authorities determined it would be advantageous to re-administer the test to uphold the integrity and transparency of the selection process for entrance to health profession schools.
