Important Things To Remember: NEET UG 2025 Counselling:

Here are many important things to remember about NEET UG 2025 Counselling mentioned below:

  • All Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays will be normal working days during the counselling.

  • Candidates are requested to kindly continue checking the official mcc.nic.in for updates.

  • After this round of counselling has closed, there will be no further rounds.

  • The seat allotment will be based on the NEET UG 2025 merit list, the options filled by the candidate, and the reservation for each of them.

  • This is important because candidates must pay the fees and attend the document verification on time, or they will be disqualified.

  • This counselling is a simple and transparent acceptance that will take place for the most respected and recognised medical colleges in India, this is for government, deemed, and central colleges for the academic year 2025-2026.

  • Every single student must be set up with their documents in hand and have access to their login to attend the general registration.

MCC NEET Counselling 2025: Step-by-Step Process

The MCC NEET 2025 counselling process consists of at least seven stages. Here is a detailed look at each stage:

Stage 1: Seat Matrix Release

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) releases the seat Matrix of MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing Courses available in each of the participating colleges under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ).

Stage 2: Registration

Candidates must register for each round of counseling, including the Stray Vacancy Round. The registration process is only done online. During the registration process, candidates must provide certain additional information, including NEET 2025 Roll Number, Rank, Score, and contact information. Candidates must also make payment for the non-refundable Registration Charges and a refundable Security Deposit.

Stage 3: Choice filling

After registering, candidates can make choices of courses and colleges during the choice filling on the  MCC portal. It is suggested by MCC that candidates should first make a tentative list of choices by taking into account the available seats and personal preference, then fill their choices online.

Pro Tip: Go through the seat matrix carefully so that you make better choices during the choice filling.

Step 4: Locking Your Choices

After filling in your choices, candidates have to lock the choices during the window period as specified. The MCC has warned that once you lock the choices, you cannot edit or change them under any circumstances. So, it is important to go through the list and confirm with yourself just before submitting and locking the choices. The locked choices must be printed out.

Step 5: Seat Allotment Results

The MCC publishes a provisional seat allotment result for all rounds. If there are any objections to the allotment, the candidates can raise their objections before the final result is published. Then,  based on the final allotment, candidates can:

  • Accept the seat and join the allotment institute

  • Opt to upgrade to the next round(If eligible)

  • Re-register for the new round if they are not happy with their allotment

Step 6: Reporting to the Institute

Candidates who have been allotted will have to report to the referenced institute in person within the stipulated period. They must take the original documents for verification and pay the admission fee as stated by the institute.

Step 7: University Verification and Seat Confirmation

After a candidate reports and joins, the concerned university or college checks the documents and registration information submitted by them. This is done to ensure final confirmation and processing of the candidate’s admission based on information provided by MCC.
