Introduction
Lumbini Medical College & Teaching Hospital (LMC) is a private college offering MBBS and BSc Nursing programs with their teaching hospital in Tansen of Palpa district in western Nepal, at a distance of about 300 kilometers from Kathmandu and an altitude of approximately 1,350 meters. This institute was founded for the purpose of fostering education and health services in the area, and functions as a major referral hospital for the surrounding hill areas. The institute draws students not only from Nepal but also from India and abroad.
History
Lumbini Medical College (LMC) was created in 2008 and made a public limited company on 2014. The college began offering the MBBS from 2009 and MD/MS postgraduate programs from 2015. All programs have been offered in affiliation with Kathmandu University.
