Student Life at College of Medical Sciences:
Campus Activities
The available school selection options offer a seamless transition from camp activities into primary or secondary education if desired; whether your child attends an exclusive summer camp or year-round school full-time, it's easy for them to find their place at an academically rigorous private school.
Cultural Activities
To bring together people of all faiths and different cultural backgrounds, CMS hosts festivals that include cultural performances, drama productions, college day events, etc., for students who come from various parts of Nepal and also from different SAARC nations (where students are based).
International Student Community
A large percentage of our student population is made up of students from outside Nepal (primarily students from India), which naturally establishes a peer network of other international students. For female and junior men, separate dormitory buildings are provided by CIMS.
Career Opportunities After MBBS:
Practice in India
After passing the acceptable NMC licensing test for foreign medical graduates, Indian-trained physicians in India may legally practise there if they graduated from an accredited medical school in India that is recognised by NMC at the time that they apply to be registered.
Eligibility for FMGE/NExT
Historically Indian physicians receive a license to practice through the FMGE, and NExT will be the common qualifying exam for all medical degree holders from India and overseas, but currently, that process is transitioning from FMGE to NExT. Therefore, verify that you obtain the latest status of the final exam system under NMC before depending on previously published data.
Post-Graduate Study Opportunities
CMS offers its MD/MS and DM/MCh postgraduate programme through KU; therefore, graduates may do specialisation through CMS when completed at KU. Graduates may also do postgraduate study in India (through NEET-PG) or in other countries, depending on KU's degree recognition in various countries.
Career Options Internationally
As graduates of CMS are recognised by the WDOMS, they will have several options available to them for licensure in WDOMS countries, including licensure through the Sri Lanka Medical Council or the UK GMC, subject to the different licensure and registration qualifications by each of the countries.
